Catalina Rahaianu Bihan is a holistic practitioner, Ayurvedic massage practitioner, Ayu-Yoga therapist and Energy Medicine Practitioner with over 6 years of study and practice. Her goal is to help individuals restore their inner and outer balance with Ayurveda. Ayurvedic massage, or "Abhyanga" is one of the core treatments that she offers. This therapy helps with stress reduction, anti aging, increasing blood and lymphatic circulation, restoring mental alertness, helps with joint pain. She tailors the treatments according to each individual's health needs, while incorporating pranayama [breathing exercises] and yoga asana [postures] teachings - tools that clients can take home with them and practice between treatments.
Abhyanga is a traditional form of full body Ayurvedic massage which involves therapeutic massage techniques and specific pressure points (marmas) to invigorate the body and mind. Stress and emotion management: Understanding each individual state of being, their constitution as per Ayurvedic criteria and their lifestyle, Catalina uses Abhyanga as a tool to assist and direct her clients into deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
Breathing: Proper breathing helps with calming the mind, anxiety, sleep, regeneration and rejuvenation of the mind. During the treatments she works with the individual’s breath patterns and guide them through proper breathing to obtain the desired results.
Pain management: Touch therapy has been proven to help alleviate a variety of conditions causing physical and mental pain. Ayurvedic massage is very effective in pain management such as: muscle tension, neck and back pain, headaches, sciatica, joint pain and sleep disorders.
Catalina completed the 1500-hour program of Advanced Ayurvedic Wellness Counsellor (AAWC) at CAISH, she also has a 230-hour certification for Abhyanga Ayurvedic massage, Ayurveda and Yoga Teacher [YTT], [AYU-YOGA] and a 300-hour Ayurveda Yoga Therapy training from Jai Wellness and 100-hours Marma Nadi Therapy Chikitsa from CAISH. Over the years she has seen tremendous transformation in people’s health and wellbeing with Abhyanga treatments. Her passion led her to further explore both western and eastern systems of health and find common ground with tools to incorporate into her practice that are adapted to the 21st century lifestyle.
