Daniel Chou, L.Ac., M.S.A.O.M

Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Daniel started his martial arts training during his early teens. While learning the way of the sword and attaining kendo San-Dan (3rd Rank Black belt) considerable time was also spent studying the Yang style Tai-chi chuan and sabre.

Daniel later followed Master Wu Kuo-Chung to further specialize in Grand Master Cheng Man-Ching's 37 forms of Tai-chi chuan and sword, Quintanimation and Taoist Qi-Gong.  He joined as a full time member of The Yi-Ching Association of The Republic of China. In 1997, after 10 years of study, he was certified International Classic Tai-chi instructor.  In 1991, he took up TCM study under the tutelage of Dr. Chou Geo-Yu of the Yong-An Tang Acupuncture and Moxibustion Institute.

In 1992 Dr. Daniel Chou came to Toronto to practise acupuncture and to teach Tai Chi. He furthered his studies and in 1999 he obtained his Master's Degree in Science of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the USA. He also holds a Diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and is a licensed Acpuncturist in Calfornia.

chou.jpgHe has been certified as an acupuncturist by the Ontario Acupuncture Examination Committee since 2003.  Daniel has taught Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Herbs, Tai-Chi and Qi-gong Power Healing at Central College School of Oriental Medicine in Thornhill. 

Dr. Daniel Chou's areas of specialization include:

  • joints and muscle pain, injuries and sprains
  • neuralgia, sciatica
  • stroke rehabilitation
  • stress, melancholy, anxiety and insomnia
  • migraine headaches and dizziness
  • diarrhea/constipation and other digestive concerns
  • menopause and gynecological issues.  

Daniel’s philosophy is that prevention is primary before healing.  He enjoys reading Chinese classics as well as cooking Chinese food in a healthy style.
